Rp-hplc method development and validation for the estimation of simethicone in bulk and its pharmaceutical dosage form
A simple, precise, accurate and robust RP-HPLC method has been developed for the estimation of simethicone in bulk and it’s pharmaceutical dosage form. Chromatographic separation was run through a phenomenex Luna C18 (4.6 x 250mm, 5μm) column using Water: Acetonitrile: Methanol (60:20:20v/v) as the mobile phase at a flow rate of 1.0ml/min, the UV detection was observed at 270 nm. The retention time of simethicone was found to be 4.25 min. The method produce linear responses in the concentration range of 5-30 µg/ml and correlation coefficient was found to be 0.9996.
